CCR has become an Associate of CLIMsystems. CLIMsystems designs, develops and markets advanced, user-friendly software systems for assessing impacts and adaptation to climate variability and change. CLIMsystems offers software licenses, training, services and customised model developments to a range of national and local governments, planners, educators, students, international agencies, private consultants and companies in order to meet their needs for addressing climate risks. It’s Fourth Assessment-compatible products include spatial scenario generators for temperature, precipitation, sea level rise and other variables. Vulnerability and resilience can both be assessed through the application of CLIMsystem tools and methods including extreme event analysis, coastal erosion and other impact models.

Through the relationship with CLIMsystems, CCR has access to leading edge spatial climate change scenario generators, internationally recognised climate change scientists, and climate change impact and adaptation planning specialists. The Climate Change Response Institute recently joined with CLIMsystems and a number of leading Australian climate change impact assessment specialists to run “The Risky Business of Climate Change” capacity building short courses for local council officers.
