In conjunction with its other Climate Pro partners, Climate Change Response Institute recently successfully offered the first of its “The Risky Business of Climate Change” professional development courses for local government officers in WA. These courses can be taken as a one day “Fundamentals” or two day “Master Class” and provide local government officers with the knowledge and ability to manage the climate change impact and adaptation planning process within their council. Attendees from a range of council service areas came from 6 councils that included the cities of Canning, Melville, Fremantle and Mandurah, the Town of Vincent and the Shire of Mundaring.

The courses are now planned to be offered in Sydney and Brisbane in early February 2011plus another offering in Perth planned for June 2011.
