Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Response

Climate change is currently the most significant sustainability challenge globally and has attracted significant attention from communities, governments and business. Various reports published recently indicate that Australia is particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts and that there will be significant economic cost associated with the impacts of the changing climate. An announcement in early 2010 by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) stated that 2009 was globally the hottest decade on record.

Developing and implementing an effective climate change response strategy will increase the ability of an organisation to understand and respond to issues or problems and will enable better management of responses. Both of these elements will reduce the impact and cost of climate change. While many businesses can realise a competitive advantage by approaching climate change from an informed and strategic position, others can minimise the impact that carbon changes will impose.

Climate Change Response has significant capability and experience in assisting organisations in developing climate change response strategies. We also provide the practical services and solutions required to deliver those response strategies. Our services are delivered using an integrated approach that initially assesses the climate change risks and vulnerability, then develops strategies to mitigate those risks and prepare for climate change adaptation and the transition towards a carbon constrained economy.
