On the 28th of July 2010 the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released its 2009 State of the Climate report. The report draws on data from 10 key climate indicators that all point to the same finding based on scientific evidence – that our world is warming is unmistakable. More than 300 scientists from 160 research groups in 48 countries contributed to the report that confirms the past decade was the warmest on record and that the Earth has been growing warmer over the last 50 years. The full report is available from the NOAAA website. This follows on earlier reports by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO showing that in Australia the last decade was the hottest on record. The “State of the Climate” snapshot released jointly in March by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology showed that Australia has warmed significantly over the past 50 years. The report also stated categorically that ''climate change is real”.
